SPRING RUGGERFEST

The North Carolina Youth Rugby Union (NCYRU) is set to kick off the 2012 annual RUGBY festival and tournament March 10th and 11th at Elon Park in Charlotte, NC.

There will be over 42 teams comprising a cross section of high school men and women teams as well as a contingent of middle school boys. Over 1000 players will converge in the Ballantyne area of south Charlotte to contend for the related championships of each age bracket. The North Carolina Spring Ruggerfest is one of the largest youth league rugby tournaments in the United States. Teams attend from a dozen east coast states as well as teams from Canada and The Caribbean.
All spectators are welcome, but good sportsmanship and thunderous cheering for the participants is required!

RATTLE BATTLE 2012 - Raleigh, NC, May 19-20

Battle for the Southeast High School Rugby Championship

With the lack of a High School National Championship the Raleigh Rugby Club and its U19 Rattlesnake Rugby Team offer a challenge to the top high school and club U19 teams in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
A (2) day (16) team tournament will be held at the World Class Rugby Facility in Raleigh, NC on May 19th and 20th, 2012. This facility boasts (2) Full size Bermuda grass fields that are properly lined with 65’ tall permanent rugby goal posts. This is ONLY a rugby facility so the pitches are rugby regulation and marked accordingly. Raleigh is conveniently located 45 minutes west of I-95 in the heart of North Carolina. It is approximately an 8 hour drive from Pennsylvania and Florida
and 4-5 hours from the Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA areas. The area has some of the top Universities with excellent rugby programs and many will be in attendance for recruiting purposes.
The Raleigh Rugby Club has the facilities and the experience to host a memorable rugby event. If you are interested in receiving more information on this tournament please contact us and provide us with your team’s information.
